District Program for Destitute's

A Beacon of Renewal
The CFS program, an initiative by Dream India Network, is a beacon of hope for the destitute, referred to as 'stars', providing a comprehensive rehabilitation service. With a presence in 4 districts, the program has remarkably impacted the lives of approximately 7,000 individuals over the past five years through rescue, rehabilitation, and follow-up care.

Program Highlights:

  • Street rescue operations for destitute individuals aged 18 and above.
     

  • Rehabilitation services in dedicated facilities such as Grace Home and Grace Hospital.
     

  • Comprehensive follow-up care to ensure long-term support and integration.
     

  • Data collection to inform continuous improvement of services.
     

  • Personalized rapport-building with each rescued individual.

Program Process

  • Rescue Operations: A specialized team, equipped with an ambulance, locates and safely transports the destitute to a suitable care facility.
     

  • Rehabilitation: Once at Grace Home or similar facilities, individuals receive medical care, shelter, and the essentials for recovery and dignity.
     

  • Follow-Up Care: Continued support ensures that rehabilitated individuals sustain their improved circumstances and do not return to the streets.
     

  • Community Integration: Efforts are made to reintegrate individuals into society or provide long-term care as needed.
     

  • Partnerships: Works in tandem with local authorities, NGOs, and healthcare providers to optimize care and resources.

Bangalore Urban.

The Bangalore Urban chapter of Colour the Fallen Stars (CFS) serves as a crucial initiative for aiding the destitute within Bangalore Urban District. This program is a concerted effort to provide safety, care, and rehabilitation to the most vulnerable sections of the urban population.
 

Number of People Impacted:
 

  • A significant number of destitute and homeless individuals in the area, supported through various services and shelters.
     

Program Highlights:
 

  • Operation of three ambulances for rescue and transportation.

  • Collaboration with two DIN-owned hospitals for healthcare services.

  • Partnership with 50 temporary shelters and 60 permanent shelters for comprehensive rehabilitation.

  • Provision of nutritional support funded by donations.

  • Shelters directly operated by DIN for specialized care.

Trichy Tamil Nadu

The Trichy District chapter of Colour the Fallen Stars (CFS) is committed to the care and rehabilitation of the destitute in Trichy, Tamil Nadu. This initiative aims to deliver comprehensive support services, addressing the complex needs of the homeless, especially those facing mental health challenges.
 

Number of People Impacted:
 

  • A broad spectrum of destitute and homeless individuals within the district are supported through various initiatives.
     

Program Highlights:
 

  • Provision of ambulance services for the rapid rescue and transportation of destitute individuals.

  • Collaboration with government hospitals to ensure the provision of essential healthcare.

  • Management of 35 shelters, both temporary and permanent, for effective rehabilitation.

  • Community engagement for heightened support of destitute individuals.

  • A focus on delivering professional care, particularly addressing mental health concerns.

Kolar, Karnataka

The Kolar District chapter of Colour the Fallen Stars (CFS) is dedicated to the betterment of destitute individuals in Kolar, Karnataka. This program takes a comprehensive and compassionate approach to rescuing and providing ongoing support to those in need.

  • A broad spectrum of destitute and homeless individuals within the district are supported through various initiatives.
     

Program Highlights:
 

  • Swift ambulance rescue services for the homeless and destitute individuals.

  • Partnership with government hospitals for medical care.

  • Operation of 20 shelters that offer temporary and permanent assistance.

  • A destitute-free hospital model in collaboration with St. Mary's Hospital.
